The CBC online video service doesn't look too bad (in windowed mode). The position slider seems to work pretty well/quickly too (for replays etc.)

I always preferred watching England in red.

Until today.

Apparently they come with special velcro straps which can be attached to each shoulder to maximise chip storage.

Theo's out of Fabio's squad, short right filips in, all kinds of other rumours going round, Warnock in for Baines, Dawson in for King etc - all to be revealed/confirmed at 3pm UK time!

Being half Scottish myself that will come in handy! Being realistic no doubt it will end that way for England too.

I see that Argentina replica shirts are selling well in Scotland now.

I'm not so sure it will change this time. But I do think far too much is made of this fact.

It's not as if winning the WC on another continent is common. Winning in Mexico hardly counts for Brazil and Argentina and when you take that away that leaves just Brazil. So really only one team has done it.

If one wants to be generous, one could say two have won outsde of their Confederation.

A European team not winning outside Europe is quite unremarkable in that context.

Now, now. We're all Englishmen once every four years. (Unless we're not).

The England team looks brilliant on paper.

They're just shit on grass.

Comment from United States coach Bob Bradley (following the USA vs Australia match today): "Whenever you get close to a World Cup and see players pick up late injuries and miss out, then I think all players, all coaches, everyone in the game, feels bad when that happens. When a player like Rio Ferdinand goes down injured, when there is a question mark against Didier Drogba etc, these are things you don't want to see.'''

Now Mikel out and Robben a doubt. I'm actually gutted, like the fish we caught today, that Robben might not get to play. Oh well, at least there's someone offering themselves for contempt... Comments from Alexi Lalas: "I hope Rooney has a temper tantrum, has a swing at someone and gets thrown out."
