Re: Working From Home Tips
I would imagine these call center employees I have been talking to working on crummy laptops from home provided by the employer would prefer their usual set up, but these call center jobs don't pay well enough to justify having the employee buy anything, I certainly wouldn't, these folks are probably making 14-15 hour and well most likely can't go out and build a proper home office with proper equipment nor should they, that is the companies responsibility not the employees.

I don't think you are, and I don't think I could cope with living with a long commute again. I think you have a lot more traffic than me because greater Moncton is more spread out and you have more people, but we are tiny really - there's always a bit of fuff at 5 o'clock when everyone wants to cross the river and we only have two small bridges to cross the Saint John River which is bloody Huge, but other than that 30 minutes of fun...nothing.
I think we might be thinking about gingerly opening up again...they are charging for car parking next Monday again... we've had 5 days with no new C19!

This may be a bit 'old' now but with photos of what their workspace really looks like and their on-screen appearance I thought it was interesting.
I particularly like the guy who not only has a smart look from the waist up but even makes his plastic chair look 'executive'

I don’t think it’s so much old, as more the ‘new normal’. I particularly liked the newcomer to Canada and his attitude and positive vibe. My son cleaned his bedroom up for his online lectures after he realized that the other students could see it, one of his lecturers complimented him on his Le Mans 24 hours race posters! If it were me I’d do what the woman did with the background of a jungle... I thought that very clever.

Yes, I hear you there Danny, I am very lucky to still be able to go into work. The office is very quiet, only about 5 people in our department, but still better than being at home. Plus all the shop guys are in, its been a life saver for me….its kept life pretty normal.

Excluding weekends and stat holidays, today is my 53rd day of working from home.
2 months and 16 days, not that I am counting or anything.

My contract expires at the end of this month. The client is inclined to renew so I submitted the appropriate paperwork with the work location amended to state remote work only. We'll see how that goes over.
