Hi, I'm new on the site and have been trawling through threads.
Lots of Autumn pics. Fall, if you insist..:p

Does anybody have any winter pics? So far, I've only been to Canada once, in August. It rained. My wife tells me I should be there in winter before we decide to emigrate.

So, pics are the next best thing for now....Anyone got any?

Marble: it's very difficult to take winter time pictures in Canada. As you know, we live in total darkness from November until mid-March. Moreover, it's so cold that what few photons there are, are so feeble that you need special equipment to record them.

We had snow on the ground from October to April last winter. I would live through an Albertan winter over a English winter anytime.

Pictures don't really do justice to the winter experience. Your wife is right (of course...isn't she always)...you should experience it before you decide to move here if you can, as it looks quite beautiful, but doesn't really communicate the feeling of the inside of your nose freezing up.

Yep... sometimes a canadian winter is best viewed through glass

don't forget that crazy itch that starts once the humidity has been at 0 for a while

Never gave it much thought because we live in an area that doesn't see a lot of humidity... but now that you mention it, my skin feels incredibly dry sometimes in the winter.

Now that I'm not working with accident claims, I can appreciate winter that much more (snow was always a 4 letter swear word)!! We haven't seen much snow in the past few years, so maybe this winter will be the year we see a good coating of the white stuff on the valley floor.

We did two winter recces - didn't put us off at all - but well worth seeing (and feeling) what all the fuss is about !! ;)

What the thermometer doesn't say is that there is a wind chill making it feel

It's the ol' eyelashes sticking together I don't like, you soon learn not to breathe deep or through your nose though!

these are from march this year -20 and we live in the heart of edmonton, i agree better a winter here than england, they are prepared for it
