why do you post?

For those especially that spend a large amount of time post on this forum (you know who you are!) Why do you do it?

For me its primarily because I hate my job and if it didn't have something else to do all day I'd be bored out of my mind

Ditto.

But, may the saints be praised, this mind numbingly boring work that I'm doing now will be over around the middle of December. It's all I can do to last till then.

Hi

I think forums become addictive, no matter what one you're hooked on at the time. And the more involved you are, the more you want to see what people have said about your posts, or what ever.

I personally come on this one as a reference site more than a social engagement type thing, if that makes any sense at all!

Good Night -

I first came in here to find out stuff for me.

Then I got so damned knowledgeable (;)) that I could start spreading the word.

Now I pop in most days to have a laugh, be cheeky and occasionally help someone. I just can't help myself. :o

To combat the boredom of bean counting.

You lot can also be quiet humorous from time to time.

And I can still get the odd useful piece of information, even though I have been in Canada for almost a year and a half.

I love my job but have been bored out of my tree for the past couple of weeks as we have a lull between projects

Re: why do you post?

For me the answer is, as usual, procrastination. We're actually quite busy at work at the minute, but I have a particularly tedious task I'm putting off starting. If I wait long enough somebody else might magically have done it for me by the time I can't put it off any longer (I wish...)

In enjoy inflicting immense psychological pain on others. Especially faceless strangers with no means of physical comeback.

Well it sounds like I'm not alone. This forum owes a lot to all the boring jobs out there.

to see how things are progressing and the experience of others, a lot of the content is quite relevant to me compared to other sites, there's less pointless posts such as resumes being posted begging for an employer to give them a job or a visitor letter because they're honest and will go back home after 2 weeks etc. and most people on here will call a spade a spade rather than the overly-optimistic people on other sites and yes because I'm on the night-shift and it gets quiet with only 2 people working for 12 hours having seen each other the day before!!

I can walk away any time I choose............................. (aye, right!).

It's how I like to spend some of my free time. It's the lesser of two evils - it's either coming in here or watching Judge Judy and Dr Phil on the box (ooops, I manage to do both at the same time ;))

I feel like I belong to a special kind of 'secret' club ;)

I also like to see how others are coping with such a huge change in their lives

To pass on some tips to others that I have learned along the way

Oh, and I forgot.............. I am addicted ;)

Initially because of frustration and desperation due to the whole process of emigration.

Hubby found the site and said I should sign up and glean as much information as possible, and look others plight in comparison to our own.

Now I prefer the Maple Leaf, coz it fun, folk bitch and insult each other, and when I'm feeling a bit low there is usually something to laugh at.:rofl:

Right now we need a laugh, waiting for the house sale to complete, while contemplating the rise and fall of the c$.

It feels like the only place where others truly understand the why, what, where, when, ifs and buts as to why we are giving up our lives in the Uk and moving off to the "other side".

You dont have to constantly explain your actions.

Great advice - I couldnt have done this without you nutters and BE:rofl:

Worked in an office on my own with complete access to the internet:eek:

Great fun reading the ups and downs of everyone elses experiences.

Beats Eastenders anyday - this could be the script for a new soap - so who will come up with the best name first?

See now you are all going to have to come back for more to see what the soap name will be:rofl:
