White Noise machine

Re: White Noise machine
I need silence to sleep. I've learnt over the years though not to get wound up if there is noise when I'm trying to sleep unless hubby is trying to fall asleep to the radio or even worse watching tv. Then I just toss and turn!!

It's funny because I know what you mean about needing silence to sleep that's why I find the idea so bizarre. It's almost counter intuitive. It was on my sleepless nights in a hotel in the US just after Christmas that I started googling "anxiety can't sleep" or similar and that's when I found out about them.
Then I recalled on a thread on this forum to which JSmith had written about sleeping with the fan on. At the time I read the post, I thought it sounded a bit strange as I couldn't understand how it would help, but then on that sleepless night, (it really was "sleepless somewhere near Seattle" ha ha) when reading about these machines, I thought maybe there's something in it.

Re: White Noise machine
I usually listen to any audiobook or podcast. The speaking usually has me asleep within 5 minutes apparently ( according to the Mrs ) otherwise my brain is going over things too much and takes me a while to go off.
