Where to buy Laptop Case?

Hello guys..

I am just home from Guildford where I was hunting for a laptop bag for my trip. I went to 3 different stores and they only had cases for 15.4inch machines, and none for the 17inch size ones.

I am looking on the internet too and there aren't many places - or maybe there are and I just haven't found them.

So, if anyone knows a good place to look, please let me know. I would ideally like something more funky than the boring black, but obviously my choice appears limited....

Hi we had same problem bloody great lappy no where to put it. We got a bag from TJ maxx in the states, maybe TK maxx UK has some. Its is a Samsonite soft bag with padded side for laptop and regular side for bits loads of room. And it is blue/black. Not just boring business black.

if you look at the bottom of this page, chances are (thanks to the wonders of Google AdWords) you'll have a banner ad for a purveyor of laptop cases that has picked up the key words in this thread. No idea what their kit's like, but it might be worth checking them out.

['course, I just had a proper look at the ad and it seems it's a place in New York that specialises in laptop bags for women - I haven't clicked it because I wouldn't want to give them a false impression of their click-through rates for BE, but if you want a flowery pink cover for your laptop it might be the place to go.....]

Ahh the trouble with having to deal with 17" ;)

I noticed that Comet have one at £29.99 (which is the cheapest they appeared to have). It's the briefcase "style" with the over the shoulder handle. Could you maybe borrow one and then buy one when you get there as it would probably work out cheaper/better selection, but then you might not have time for shopping.

Other than that PC World have them as well but they are fairly pricey I think.

Look at Pakuma. A friend of mine has one and loves it.

I spoke to Pakuma and they recommended the choroka k2 for my needs as the choroka k1 is really built for the 17".

A brand called 'Crumpler' make good laptop bags, hubby has one and is right pleased with it as it has a separate removable padded sleeve for the laptop to go into. Also it doesn't look too much like a laptop bag.

The pakuma is very similar to Crumpler. Cheaper too. I was told who make pakuma. I think it is the same factory who makes Lowepro camera bags (used by pros)
