whats yours like??
After seeing that gorgeous house the MKMurrays have, and a few others in the past as well I thought it might be nice to see where everyone else lives.
It may help others to see where us expats end up living, so any info on location, size and price would be useful but understandable if you dont want to give that.
So heres ours, Peterborough, south end. 2 beds, we use the 3rd as a sitting room. Unfinished basement, cost us $15OK last October. Its an OK house, I dont like it very much but its the best we could afford that was on the market then. If we get PR and can stay then we will move out of the city to somewhere cheaper.

Honky tonk cabin in the woods. Just over $300,000 last winter. North of Brampton, 70 miles from the CNN Tower. Nearest place to Toronto with room for a horse which it was possible to acquire using 100% financing and with one of the purchasers having no income and no status in Canada.
The lights came with the place, the paint didn't.

3+ beds, 1 bath, about 1300sq ft? Its not well built or anything, but its home. Basement isnt finished, but its on the to do list now.
The lot is really what sold us on it, its on about 3/4 acre, and it over looks the River Trent in "Quinte West", Eastern Ontario, about 2h to Toronto or Ottawa.
Assesed value is currently $125k or something stupid. We paid $103k back in 2001.

In the process of building at the moment - sorry pics are a couple of months behind. We're currently painting, fitting kitchen and tiling bathrooms.
We purchased a 32 acre piece of property in Kamloops city limits (www.fieldstone-equestrian.ca) two years ago, and started building on the property this spring. There is a mobile home (which we rent out) and a converted barn which we currently live in and will rent once the new house is finished.
The property was a dump when we purchased it, but had potential to turn it into a business - we paid $600k for it in '05. The house build will cost us about $550k. Finished value for business and residential is a little over $2.5m

Well here's ours. Bought 3 years ago for $240,000
Had been completely renovated and is near the lake. Low price tag because of the highway right next door........................there's always a compromise
