Reminds me of that old joke about the proverbial polite Canadian who says "nice shoes!" when he gets kicked in the face.

When I first came over working for a UK firm a few years back, my mate who was already over here told me, you listem, they all say 'Oh really'

After that all I ever heard was 'Oh really', everywhere I went, someone in the background was always saying it.

Not my favourite thats for sure

....That's why you guys with Canadian girls should never trust 'em. Are you really as good/hot/large as they say you are? - or are they just telling you that out of politeness?

I've never actually found Canadians to be very polite, although I suspect this reputation is earned because of the comparison with the US.

Now, passive aggressiveness seems to embody the very ethos of Canadianism.

Not a favourite, but one that drives me crazy........hearing adults saying they are "going to the potty"

It's bad enough that kids say it.....but adults!

I'm not sure anyone else did either. Its not a word that gets used very often. At least not until recently.
