BBQ at a neighbours, open fire and hockey on the rink we've built there. Copious quantities of alcohol laced hot chocolate, followed up with beer once we've done with skating.

Sandwiches at lunchtime.

I'm going to make a Thai Red curry for hubby and me shortly, and the kids will have their usual plate of "bland" ...

Tonight was curry at the local (surprisingly passable) curry place with Mrs AX, a brother in law and his partner. Curry is Mrs AX's favourite although I can take or leave it. Still, a couple of pints of draught local brew afterwards in a pub helped settle it well. Happy days.

roast beef, (very good here) and a nice piece for $10 feeds the three of us with ease, roasties, yorkies, broccoli and cauli cheese, with bisto gravy and a pint of stella. i could be in the ring o bells back home, just need to give the missus a black eye and pee in the corner.

we had OH's brother & his girlfriend over for lunch yesterday - pork tenderloin with apricot & sultana glaze, mash, green beans and carrots, garlic & parmesan bread (although we maybe overdid the garlic a bit, glad we weren't going out anywhere in the afternoon!); chocolate chip cookies (made by OH and son yesterday morning) and fruit compote for dessert. After that we collapsed on the sofa and watched the replay of the Aussie Open final, having managed to avoid seeing or hearing the result all morning.

Supper was a croque monsieur for us grown-ups - the kids had eggs (boiled for 4yo, scrambled for 1yo). Nobody needed much after a big midday meal.

I have the remains of the pork in the remains of the baguette (the bit we didn't garlic-butter to death) for my lunch in the office today - yummy.
