What's great about Canada?

Hi

Everybody posts threads about what is wrong with Canada but nobody looks at it from the positive side. So here goes, what do you all like especially about your new lives in Canada?
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: :thumbsup::thumbsup:

We love the fact our nearest neighbour is at least 1/2 to 1 km away from the house and we have land for our dogs which we wouldn't be able to afford in the UK. Lots of other stuff also but for me this would be the main one

Since when?
I would say over 75% of posts on here present Canada in a positive light

Ok to answer your question

(and I'm sure to get flamed for this)

Lack of Football on TV, REAL ski hills, the fact you CAN advance as an immigrant (regardless of origin and skin colour), No OVERT racism (unless you're First Nation)

The other side of the coin?
Too much NA Football on TV, food can be very BLAND, increasing incidence of ethnic ghettos, LOTS of COVERT Racism

yes the above is from MY experience and MY INTERPRETATION

The highways. I quite like the highways here. Not too much traffic on the highways. Big wide open lanes that are regularly and promptly snow ploughed, plus you can always drive at a comfortable speed without someone else "dictating your driving".

Oh, and lots of interesting animals can be seen on or around the highways.

The price of gas. Oh, and I'm really pleased they don't have cars that run on milk.

I just want to echo what other have already put. We love the laid back life style although sometimes it can be frustrating, wide open spaces and the ability to be able to afford a much bigger house than we could back home, less traffic the list goes on really!!:D, but its easy to think that everything is wonderful there are still some things that I miss, but generally the quality of life is better.

the poster is new though, so it may seem that way, as there have been a few negative or is it objective, ones lately.

I dunno theres probably a thread entitled "What do you like about Canada - Why did you move to Canada, Why is Canada so great" i'd say on average once a month.

If I could be at all bothered to do a search i'd post the links ;)

On the flip side, as soon as someone posts a question like this, someone else posts a thread starting with the opposite.

Some like it, some don't, some will voice their opinions, some won't.
