What I really h8 about Canada
This has bugged me for years.
After 20 odd years in Canada it still irritates me. Instead of saying "tasty" they say "flavorful," or "flavorsome." What the heck is wrong with "Tasty?" |

They're words to lose your teeth on, too many syllables, they're trying to be posh, they're pretensious words. There's nowt wrong wi' good old down to earth English words. Just try and imagine Les Dawson saying "flavorful." How many men say "Ooh that gravy is flavorful"? They say, "Eh-up that were right tasty that were!" At least where I come from! |

Re: What I really h8 about Canada
In Canadian it's flavour and not the US flavor. Still not tasty though

Re: What I really h8 about Canada
Hmmmm... I wonder if it depends on the area of Canada.
I'm born and bred Canadian and really only recall saying tasty rather than flavourful. |

In almost 40 years in Canada I can't recall hearing that. It's always been tasty as far as I can remember. Must be a Calgary thing.
Or better yet, replace h8 with "hate" :D |

Me too! Perhaps the title should read "Things I h8 about Calgary"
Or better yet, replace h8 with "hate" :D You know I've never heard tasty in a TV commercial - it's always flavorful. Not a big gripe I know, but after all these years, man and boy, it's the one that gets me!:p |

Steve, I think that these illustrate perfectly what Brits mean when they say they can't get good cheese in Canada. I am sure that someone will prove me wrong, but I don't recall seeing such "cheese" over here:p |

Re: What I really h8 about Canada
I don't hate much about Canada, probably because of my length of time here, but I do wish that GST and PST was included in the price displayed on items, as is done in UK.
