What happens at "Customs"?

We should receive our furnitures sometimes this week I think... we asked to day (didn't realise that it was a bank holiday) and they should email us tomorrow, with the address of the customs office, etc...
But just wondered if any of you here tonight could answer please:)
How long does it take, what happens?

I know we already declared when we landed the things we would bring in - although it changed slightly (furnitures) as it was over 1 year ago...

Because they have been used before, they were white originally.

Go to the custom office with your paperwork tell them you want to clear a shipment. Unless they have any concerns you get the customs release to show the shipper who can then release your goods to you or deliver them, whatever you've arranged.

We did ours in Fredericton. The guy driving the truck called us and arranged to meet at the customs office on corner of Hanwell/Prospect. He knew exactly what to do.

Like The Aviator said, if nothing to declare and everything is simple then sign and stamp the forms and direct the truck driver to your home!

Good luck.

If you're on a TWP, tell them you'll be returning to the UK when the WP expires... otherwise you could be lumped with import duty.
