What food would you miss if you moved away from Canada

Well happen i'm not a food critic but i find the range of choices here are light years beyond a similar sized city in the UK. There are 1400 restaurants here. Granted, there are the usual middle of the road suspect chains, but beyond those there are numerous great places to eat for a small city.
I really dont get where you are comparing to.

There wasn't a single restaurant from Canada that made the top 100 restaurants in the world. Not sure what to make of that.

Some one from our UK office has bought me a can of Heinz Beanz.
I shall be taking them into the bar in my lobby and asking them to cook them up with my breakfast on Saturday morning.
Oh Beanz Beanz good for your heart....

I said I never eat it, I didn't say I'd never eaten it. I used to have to suffer through it every Christmas because people at the office wanted to go an "Indian" restaurant for the Christmas party. Plus I used to know someone who worked at one of these restaurants who actually was Indian and she told me it bears little resemblance to anything she remembers from India.

Bought some of this yesterday, I thought it was going to be revolting but it's one of the best things I've ever tasted.
Feels like you're digesting cement though. High fat, high sugar and high sodium.

India. Big country. Diverse. Different foods at different ends. Perhaps she came from one of those yoghurt and rice states, Kerala or similar, and so wouldn't have grown up eating the kinds of foods that formed the basis of British-India cuisine.

For his recent visit back home here in blighty, I had my son bring over 2 huge bottles of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing (bought from Costco), 4 bottles of President's Choice Hot Buffalo Sauce & 2 bags of Old Dutch Jalapeno & Cheddar crisps...that's CRISPS and not CHIPS (cos I'm in Englund now ;-) )...the crisps went immediately and we're almost through one of the bottles of ranch already! I actually don't miss much foodwise but if I push myself I'd say Tony Roma's ribs and A&W Mozza burgers too

Re: What food would you miss if you moved away from Canada
interesting question.. I have just recently come back to Nova Scotia after spending 5 months in France and Germany and while I didn't particularly miss anything Canadian (other than my husband) during my stay there, I am finding myself gravitating towards fresh local seafood now... the WORLD's BEST seafood chowder is simmering as I type... and fresh lobsters are ordered for tomorrow...
