What do accents say to you

Re: What do accents say to you
I, like many other women, LOVE Irish (north or south) on a bloke. I wish I had a French accent because I think French women sound sophisticated and sexy. My dad has a strong north Walian accent and my mum's Korean so it's amazing that I've come ours with a rather non descript, hard-to-place uk accent. Although my husband says I get very Welsh when I'm drunk or angry.

Within the UK I find Brummy or Wolverhampton a little slow.
Outside Irish males are irritating.
In Canada definitely Newfoundlanders are the most annoying. Especialy when they drink and slowly drift from Canadian into Irish.
Lastly the worst is Hollywood English. Even my friends who went to private schools don't sound that bad.

Re: What do accents say to you
Always a touchy subject with me...my kid was born in France and when he speaks English has a funny foreign accent "it's waining" instead of raining, but his teachers tell me he has a funny foreign accent in French too - so it looks like I'll never win! I left the UK 25 years ago and have always lived in funny parts so I think I over enunciate on the How Now Brown Cow field. My father was from Edinburgh and my mother the Midlands, but I WISH I was from Tyneside or North Shields (very sexy) via any Italian (sexy gone nuclear)!

I can't tell the difference between American and Canadian accents apart from deep south America and Newfoundland. Apart from them they all sound as dopey as each other.

I used to date a Kiwi. Didn't find that accent sexy at all. Very nasally.

Provided people speak properly and clearly accents don't matter. It doesn't matter where people come from or what there underlying accent is you can tell instantly as soon as someone opens their mouth whether or not they are educated.
All accents sound nice if spoken properly. All sound terrible if spoken slovenly

That's like a Canadian saying he can't tell the difference between English and Scottish accents. Kinda makes you sound Dopey

Its one of the reasons I'd take my kids back to the UK. I wouldn't be so unkind as to inflict a Canadian accent on them if it wasn't absolutely necessary.
