I then picked my bike up running into the bushes before I relaised my shoulder was a bit sore as I'd broken my collar bone.

Worked my day job til 5pm, went to my evening job at 9pm, worked until 4.30am, walked home via the dairy and the bakers and picked up milk and warm custard tarts, ate them walking home, went to bed at 5am and got up again at 8am to start work at 8.30 - I did this for nearly 4 months. I caught up on sleep on the weekends as I wouldn't have my day job to go to.
I was saving up to go abroad for 3 months, couldn't do it now.
Edit. I used to be able to drink 12 pints of Guinness in one long session and still be standing - couldn't do that now either!

I never was a fan of pernod but had a smiliar experience on Yates Wine Lodge Aussie White (it was actually a mix of sweet white wine and Brandy if I rememebr correctly).
I actually quite liked the stuff in moderation but after a bottle and a half one night couldn't stand the smell/taste of it for quite some time - and I think post #5 above was the outcome that night !
Dunno if you can still get it and would give it a try for nostalgia sake
