Westjet Booking Difficulty
 

Anyone else had trouble booking Westjet flights with a UK credit / debit card? I keep getting the message below. This is not the first time I've run into this. When I tried booking a Canada - UK flight from Canada none of my UK cards would work. My banks said there was no problem with any of the cards so I ended up booking the flight over the phone which I hate doing, we just put it down the Westjet system maybe not being happy with a UK card being used in Canada. Fast forward to now and I have just had the same issue trying to book a return flight to Canada from the UK. Checked banks, again no problems so they said it must be the merchant. Seems strange for a large company to have issue with the money taking part of the business!

Maybe try reaching out to Westjet on twitter with a screenshot? Sometimes that can get results.

I got told on the phone that it was a known IT glitch in their system that's been "going on some time". Seems incredible!

Looks to go back several years at least, found a post on twitter dating back to 2018 and a few more in 2020 with people getting the same error.
