5 years? the New Castle in Newcastle has been there since 1177.

Well that's a good example of what's old in Canada isn't really.

Well, your old light bulb (technically it's a lamp) has a tungsten filament and creates light via incandescence. But so do the various tungsten halogen types- capsules and dichroics. So they were technically called GLS- General Lighting Service.

The new ones are Compact Fluorescent Lamps.

There's nearly a dozen other types I had to deal with too. The LED revolution is making life much easier!

Good job we're over again in October!

The Nesquik was a family order. 300g tubs are the new 'large'.

Most things can be got on Amazon these days. PG Tips we order when we get down to the last box. 480 bags for $25 is almost UK shop price... We also get Bisto Best online.

Walmarts do British stuff in 'some' stores and Thrifty Foods does Wensleydale.

You can get a lot of British products online with Walmart, even stuff you don't see in their stores (like Chocolate Hobnobs!).

Weirdly, Hobnobs make me cough after eating them. The only biccy that does. I have no allergies. Maybe I should not try and swallow them whole

They sell Chocolate Hobnobs in ours...but I prefer the plain ones, which they don't have. Not the last time I looked anyway. Dad's oatmeal cookies are an acceptable alternative. The have the same 'feel' about them.

I wish they'd sell Club Biscuits that were not just the orange ones. Why do they think people are only interested in orange?

It's not like people don't have other mint things here and if Cadburys can sell fruit and nut here, why not fruit club biscuits?

I left Canada over a year ago and have spent more than half of the time since then in the UK. I'm yet to buy even a single product mentioned in this thread (OK except bacon). Actually, I've never even heard of most of the rest.

Just saying.

I have. It's the new trading name of ING.

I didn't watch the video though.

Maynards! The ones in Canada are just rubbish and even the wine gums which I thought would taste the same are really horrible. I want Sports Mixture and proper wine gums. Don't fancy spending money on air fare to get some though! It's not like popping down to the corner shop.
