It's 294 K in Guelph. If it's 147 K in Vancouver at least it can't be raining.

Well that's a very good excuse for visiting the pub...you could of course always take refuge in a shoe shop...

Shoe shops should have bars, or at least fridges. I could cope without having to sit in the corner of such a shop, repeatedly stabbling myself in the leg just to make sure I'm still alive.

Done. Still raining in Vancouver when we left. I was amused to talk to some people who were considering moving there, they're arranging to rent a flat for a couple of months to see "if we can deal with the weather over a long period". They currently live in Edmonton.

So we heard. Still, cliched weather or not, it was interesting to visit, and we now better understand the many complaints on this board about the price of cheese.

Like we had a moment! My child not only graduated, which entails ceremonies and dinners and whatnot, but has been sucked into the vortex of a Canadian family, which means meeting a lot of poorly dressed people with rain frizzed hair and touching them. Believe me, drinks would have been guzzled, glugged, thrown back, had there been a second in the whirlwind of insincere salutation.

Wanna catch a beer in Toronto?
