Actually we now have two offers, big decisions need to be made - higher offer has only just put property on market but their offer is £13k higher, lower offer is from people renting who only need 1 months notice. I'm inclined towards taking the lower offer with a firm committment to complete within 6 weeks than be greedy. However, we shall see over this week. I'm tired as I have just got back from Heathrow and have not slept at all.

4 months it has taken, but we have a buyer ( let's hope it completes ! ).
They are in rented accomodation and only need to give a month's notice. We have lost a huge wod of cash but if the exchange rate goes up to 3 bucks we will be fine

That's what we are thinking too, but have asked agents to inform them of a 'higher' offer and see if they come back with anything. Will let you know tomorrow. Even with the higher offer, and even if they find a buyer really quickly, the prospect of a renter completing in 6 weeks is very attractive.
