Hi,

Does anyone know if the UK shows via an ipad & vpn will work on Chromecast ?

Bought my husband 1 for Christmas & was trying to test it appears Netflix works but UKTV no - any ideas ?

Have you read through any of the (many) threads about VPN's? You may find your answer there - first 3 are about chromecast - the 1st one could be just the ticket

Does anyone know which step i would follow for using via an ipad ?

I think it would be to make changes in the router, but any techies on here can explain would greatly appreciated, thank you

Can you watch UK tv via apple with a vpn ?

Even if you have a VPN, when you re-route from your device to Chromecast to watch UK programming (eg BBC iPlayer), the wifi-enabled Chromecast device will give away your Canadian IP address and you will be blocked if geo-restrictions are in force. I found natively casting from Chrome browser on computer/laptop/phone to TV works okay. Otherwise watch it on your device.

Can't comment if latest generation of smart TVs with built in apps (eg Roku) will help bypass IP restrictions using your VPN.

Do you have a laptop? Simply plug a hdmi cable from laptop to tv. Get a vpn like Nord, ExpressVPN etc and watch BBC through browser.

Forgot about Beebs. I dumped Unotelly, talk about useless.

I read somewhere that all the British tv stations are trying to work out how to broadcast a paying subscription for people abroad. Imagine how much the BBC would make for even a small fee.

Just wondered if you could stream from the ipad to the tv using the chromecast (save all the cable hassle), but that sounds like a no then
IF BBC or ITV had a paid subscription i would GLADLY pay for it
