I only ever use venison steaks, but when I cook those they are always done with indirect heat over the coals. It's a good 7 or 8 beer heat :nod:

We have been lucky to have been gifted quite a bit of wild meat in the last 3 + years, but it's the first time with our very own complete beast in the freezer. We have cooked it into all of the obvious meals, so these other ideas are great.
Also, I just made a cabbage casserole which turned out really good! With a cheapo cabbage, No Name rice & tinned tomatoes plus ground deer, this was such an inexpensive dinner! We have been using some bear pepperoni that we were given, in chilli's that we've made, otherwise I am not a fan. Also have 2 packs of elk ribs which i'm gonna experiment with at the weekend. |
