Great pic, as always, Steve.

You went with Stubbs Island right? They're great.

There are guidelines created by ethical tour operators and marine biologists and wildlife researchers:

I'm not disagreeing with you at all!

And that also answers the question about how to know who is a reputable company to book with! Thanks!

It would be best for a larger boat as Mrs Adbru would freak at HWP's story

many thanks

Adbru
The link in HWP's post will give you that list of ethical operators.

Yes we went with Stubbs Island and yes they were great. Captain Wayne (our Captain) is ex-RCMP so very ethical.
http://www.stubbs-island.com/english/index.html

They have two boats both about 18 meters long and can carry up to about 50 people. Also they are on the east coast of the Island so it should suite Mrs Adbru much better than a zodiac off Tofino as the waters are a lot calmer.

Here's a thread I posted shortly after we went on our tour.

Cheers
Steve

Yeah... the company had two boats. I chose the one with the with all the health warnings and mandatory floatation suits! The ride was very bumpy! The guy launched us into the air more than a few times!

Emails have been sent to check for prices and availability

LoL, I know but there is another operator in telegraph cove running tours over to Knight Inlet (http://www.tiderip.com/) so might do that on the same trip up north

Might not cost you too many $$$, twice whilst driving to Tofino we have been lucky enough to see bears & cubs sitting by the side of the road
(not grizzlies though)
