Use of a V561 Certificate for a car in Ontario
Does anyone know if you can use a V561 Certificate of Permanent Export to register a car in Ontario once it gets here?
I damn well lost the V5C, one of the kids shredded it without my knowledge, so have applied to Swansea for a V561 so I can register my car in Ontario as the DVLA was notified by the tear off strip the car was exported so they can't issue a new V5C. But I don't know anyone else who has used a V561 before in Canada instead of the V5. According to the UK, this will allow you to register a vehicle abroad. But the only uses I have seen are in the EU so far. Will it work in Ontario? |

Have you spoken with the agency who register vehicles in Ontario?
So, I am hoping they will take the V561 when I go to do the registration again. Basically will the v561 count as the Title to the vehicle? |

They just asked for the original registration document, which I didn't have.

My point was if no one has direct experience, be sure to come back a let us know, its not like you are not going to try if no one answers here is it. And before any toys are thrown from the pram, any reply, no matter how useless, brings the thread back to the top of the first page again, and that can only help you find someone who may have done this, right;) |

Seriously though, what do you have to lose in finding out.

V561 works just fine, after the agent at the MOT makes a few phone calls to Kingston
