Actually, as I think I may have mentioned on a previous Christmas food thread, the very best way to enjoy Christmas pudding is a couple of days after Christmas. Take the remains of the pudding out of the fridge, cut a few generous slices, heat up a goodly dollop of brandy butter in a heavy frying pan, and fry the pudding in the brandy butter until the sugar caramelises and you end up with a sort of sticky toffee coating on the pudding. I prefer this with orange zest rather than lemon zest in the brandy butter, but either will do.

If there's a small selection catering for the chavs, is it possible to sneak some eggy vol-au-vents in there, and maybe a prawn cocktail for starters?
