Ukraine flight PS752 crash

Re: Ukraine flight PS752 crash
Unless the recorders show differently, it appears to have been caused by an engine fire.

Possibly none. Twitchy trigger finger, weapon malfunction... who knows? But I bet some military units near Tehran have been on the highest alert possible for a few days now. Mistakes can happen.
I'm not saying it did happen, but I've seen the video of the plane on fire coming straight down. That would be a very unusual effect of an engine malfunction on a modern plane. Perhaps the last service on Monday is more relevant, maybe something was left not as it should have been.

This'll sound really foolish, but it's flight path wasn't possibly anywhere near the flight path of the missiles launched against the US bases?

Don't know, but it says in here the plane went down hours after the missile attack. On the news earlier it said 27 of the Canadians were from Edmonton.

Not missile, seen video was still in one piece as it went down. Looks like catastrophic engine failure flames from plane

It is a coincidence, but this was a 'new 2016' aircraft and as such will have had comprehensive recording facilities within it's 'black boxes'. It's significant that these will be retained by Iran allowing Ukraine access to them but not the US.
Given the history of the US downing Iranian civilian aircraft it's doubtful to me that the US would intentionally bring down another and although Iranian anti-aircraft would have been on alert it's also doubtful to me that they would likewise have brought it down.
But evidence, one way or the other, exists and will no doubt shortly leak to the wider world.
It's certainly news that Boeing could have done without.

I doubt Iran has the ability to read the data the black boxes contain, few countries do, so will be interesting to see which country they choose, if they choose not to turn them over to another country to be read, then I would think they are covering something up.

ugh so sad, we know this couple, new baby too
A family of three from Ajax, Ont., are among the victims.
Toronto resident Omid Arsalani told Global News that it was around 3 a.m. Wednesday when he learned that his sister, Evin Arsalani, 30, her husband, Hiva Molani, 38, and their one-year-old daughter Kurdia had been killed. The family was on their way home to Ajax, Ont. – about an hour outside Toronto – from Iran where they had attended a wedding on Dec. 8.

Unnamed Canadian official claims western intelligence agencies don't believe the plane was shot down.

Re: Ukraine flight PS752 crash
I have looked at that horrible you tube video that caretaker posted.... I think its simply an engine fire....which is unusual for a modern plane as engine fires are extinguished as soon as they start and the engine is shut down.....but who knows if something wasn't reassembled as it should have been after that service 2 days prior
