UK Xbox 360 in NS
 

Hi All,
I'm sure this has been done before but I can't find it.

Will my UK Xbox 360 work in Canada?
Has anyone taken one across and if so did you get xbox live up and running on it?
This question is not for me you understand, it's my son that plays it, and he'll be able to keep in touch with his mates on it!!;)

Bad news I am afraid - a UK Xbox 360 will not work in Canada - I had to sell mine (and it really was mine!)

Also I understand that UK Xbox games will not work on a Candian bought Xbox.

If anyone knows differently, I would love to hear.

The Xbox will work, however you will not be able to play software bought in Canada on the UK machine and vice versa. There are a few exceptions, but in general the games are region coded. You're much better off selling it in the UK and buying a new one over here.

And also to add even more confusion, you cannot buy things off the Canadian Xbox marketplace, use Canadian bought points or subscribe to the online through Canada with a UK registered gamertag. And you cannot change the country on your gamertag. This means either paying UK prices for everything you buy on the 360 through the store or online, or starting a new gamertag for Canada.

Ben, that means I'm, I mean my son ;) is going to have to start from scratch. All those prestiges in COD4 wasted.....All those months, years even, building up my, i mean his gamerpoints...for what!!!
I am seriously questioning whether this emmigrating lark is such a good idea.
I didn't realise I would have to make such sacrifices!!:curse:

Hubby is the same - our xbox is chipped and he has over 200 games - so its going with us, he will still be able to get his games from his UK contact and have em sent to canada - might have to do this computer to computer though not sure on the legality of sending " back ups" via international mail??
he cant play "live" but isnt botherd about that.

You have to play "live" just to wind the yanks up, they hate losing and have all got verbal diahorrea!!

lmao - i play "online" MMORPG World of Warcraft - and play on US servers - I know exactly what you mean its sooooooooooo funny. They hate losing and the blaming and yelling and whining that goes on is funny as hell. Though i have to say the biggest problem is them not understanding our sense of humour - I have succeeded in upsetting a few people with it lol :D
