I'd recommend finding a good VPN service and running your entire net connection through it as a matter of course. The decent ones will have servers in Canada/US and likely Europe and Asia too so you can bounce around depending on where you need to be from at any given time.

Usually they don't cost more than $10 a month.

^^^ What he said. I have had no issue with unblockus and seems reasonable at $4.95 per month.

Totally agree with him.

We use HideMyAss about $6.55 per month ............ allows all devices to use one account .....573 VPN servers in 136 locations in 65 countries... has UK servers in USA........... we use 2 x Ipads, 2 laptops, and Apple TV for Main TV.............we switch from Rep Ireland/USA/Canada/UK regularly and never had any problems so far.........It is possible to have 3 versions (UK/Canada/US) of Netflix running in house at same time.....

Yup - we use HMA Pro VPN too. Works great! It's the only way we can do it as our satellite internet connection stops the freebie (i.e. just changing your DNS settings) options from working...

Dumb question alert ....

I use TunnelBear and can connect my iPad through Apple TV to my TV to watch BBC, etc.

However I haven't tried connecting to Netflix while using Tunnel Bear (UK or US setting) - would it just take me to the Netflix UK or US site or do I have to create new accounts in UK/US? Or do anything else special?

Thanks! j :)

Thats a tricky one... Its hard to tell which country you're in unless you know of a movie that's in the US or UK one but not in the Canada one. An example would be "Safe" with Jason Statham in it, it is in the US netflix but not the Canada. Not sure about the UK but i could check if you want. First try it out just using your Canadian account with Tunnelbear/AppleTV and then if it still comes up the Canadian NF, then create a new account in your desired country.

Same account gets you into each relevant Netflix depending on your ip address you do not have to create new accounts for each.....

in respect of content between US and Canada I use this

http://netflixcanadavsusa.blogspot.ca/

which is updated regularly when the Netflix content is updated.

For those using unblock-us, any of you connect with a PS3? I've been looking to sign up with a VPN and they are my first choice but their support files mention problems with the PS3 and the Netflix country selector.
I'm going to sign up for their free trial and see what happens but thought I'd ask!

Do you have the Vpn set up on the modem or on each device? Ours is set up on the modem. It's fine for TV, Wii and Asus Cube but on the Android tablet the BBC seems to know we are not in the UK. I've just bought an iPad but haven't tried that yet for TV.
