I was going to say 'Do keep up there at the back' as this is now old news, but allowing for timezones I suppose it's new news for you.

I did post this much earlier than it appeared, but my chair was accidentally sitting on the PC cable, so it got blocked for a bit.

Re: UK Airspace closed!
My mum and dad were due back in NI from Australia today. They arrived in Heathrow 12 hours ago. They are in their 70's and it looks like they might have to sleep on the airport floor tonight if they can't get booked into a hotel:(

Interestingly, according to this article, the airport at Reykjavik is not affected/closed.

The irony is, the skies around heathrow have been empty since lunchtime yesterday and will continue to be until tomorrow (Saturday) BUT the weather is beautiful. There isn't a cloud (ash or otherwise) in the sky. |

Another slight irony is my OH is in London working for a band who just happen to be called ASH:eek: |

Assuming we are talking about the same band. |

Read this link http://www.wired.com/science/discove...dayintech_0410 for an example of what can happen in these circumstances. |

Some air-lines are doing test flights or something. Even if this continues I reckon some capacity will return in the next few days.

I personally hope it continues for a little while longer. At least through next week. That'll be a quiet week for me as i have clients flying in  |

The ash cloud has apparently started to move west, some flights from St. Johns to US and Canadian destinations were cancelled due to it. (Only a small amount, 13) |
Re: UK Airspace closed!

Re: UK Airspace closed!
My parents finally made it home this morning. They got a bus from Heathrow to Liverpool and then the overnight boat to Belfast. Just hoping now that my brother and sister-in-law can escape from Barcelona on Wednesday.
