Didn't follow the first series, but I'm all for some coffee and cherry pie.

There was a huge swathe of announcements about this back in October. Yes, damn fine news.

Reminds me, I need new shoes.

Now that it's been announced twice it just seems a bit more confirmed :)

Diane was very underrated.

Indeed, an integral part of the plot. Whatever that was.

Yeah. David's pulled out of the Showtime thing, budgetary concerns apparently (not enough money given to do it how he wants it). Seems to be conflicting stories as to wether it will go ahead without him. I can't see the cast wanting to do it without him, as DL *IS* Twin Peaks.

Personally think that either Showtime will give more cash to get DL back, or the production will move elsewhere, and Netflix would be a very good place for it to go.

I'm less convinced about that than others.

It seems the writing has already been done so it's just directing and of the original 30 episodes he only did 6.

According to IMDB there were 13 other episode directors including someone who directed a dozen House of Cards episodes. 6 of them did 2, 3 and 4 episodes each so I don't think his direction is essential.

That is interesting. I was very disappointed when I heard DL had pulled out, thinking it probably would not go ahead, but if what you say is true then it should be fine. I should imagine there a re lots of directors who would love a shot at it.

I agree with this. Everyone forgets that Lynch had very little to do with the filming and general production of Twin Peaks past the writing stage. On set it's said that Mark Frost had more of an influence than Lynch.
