OK, so this is the ehaldine in the MailOnLine ............. I know, I know, but I don't think they would lie about this

Boris says the jury's out on June 21st Freedom Day as it's revealed Indian Covid mutant has now reached 40% of England's local authorities and is dominant in 23 of them. So how many cases have been recorded in your area?
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/index.html
The Prime Minister stressed that roadmap out of lockdown is currently unchanged with the government sifting through emerging data about the fast-spreading strain. But he appeared to shift his language slightly by saying there is not yet 'conclusive' evidence that the roadmap will need to be altered and said things would be clearer within days. Analysis of samples from people infected with Covid has revealed that the Indian variant was present in 127 out of 314 local areas in England in the week to May 8, compared to 71 the week before. Since it was discovered it has been found in 162 areas and Health Secretary Matt Hancock yesterday said there had been five or more cases in at least 86 places. Figures from the Wellcome Sanger Institute also revealed the mutant strain had become dominant in 23 parts of the country by last week after cases almost doubled in a week. Nationally, there have been 2,323 cases of the variant - four times the 520 ten days ago - and the strain now makes up at least one in five of all new infections.

I saw a clip from LBC's Eddie Mair programme that they'd investigated and that 110 direct flights from India had landed in the UK since the variant got out of control in India. https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/revealed-...try-was-place/

Ahem Mordko
Third wave of Covid may be under way in UK, scientists say
Third wave of Covid may be under way in UK, scientists say
Scientists have warned ministers that a third wave of coronavirus may have already begun in Britain...Despite the progress of the vaccination programme, advisers are unsure to what extent the new infections – which are at levels last seen at the end of March – will translate into hospitalisations and deaths.

Macron has banned British citizens from landing in France because of the prevalence of the Indian variant of covid-19. He doesn't want it arriving in his country.

Following all those highly publicised accounts of the UK facing a third wave,
Third wave of Covid ‘definitely under way’ in UK, says expert
has anyone seen that apology from the OP yet?

Re: Trudeau lies about effectiveness of vaccination in Britai
“Lets cut the sophistry and demagoguery, please. Here is what actually happened:
1. Canada screwed up vaccine rollout. Our numbers are now much worse than in Britain and the healthcare system isnât coping. The economy has been shut down yet again.
2. UK made lots of mistakes early on but got the vaccine rollout right. Their Covid numbers are down, the economy has reopened, people are getting haircuts and are going to the pubs.
3. Anything can happen. New variants could develop. Britain might yet screw up the second set of jabs. Meanwhile vaccination has been proven to be a massive success, if rolled out efficiently. Israel has opened up, after a huge wave. The numbers are right down. Britain is next.
4. When asked about Canadian rollout problems, Canadian Prime Minister in Canada said âBritain vaccinated but is facing a third waveâ.
Yes, its a lie. Or spin/demagoguery/deflection if you prefer.”
Nothing has changed. Yes, new variants developed (see point 3). Yes, experts have different opinions (google yourself for the ones that say “its not a third wave”.) Yes, vaccine rollout is instrumental in fighting the epidemic. Yes, the rollout was delayed/botched in Canada. No, its not ok to say “things are bad in Britain” when a Canadian PM is asked about a rollout of vaccines in Canada. The evidence is plentiful that vaccination has been very helpful in the UK and now in Canada and implying otherwise is harmful and a lie.
Hope you feel better because I did respond. Hope you find strengths to forgive me if this triggers you again. Perhaps with time. Might take a few more months or years but I am confident you can find it in yourself to forget this disagreement we had in a chatroom.

We have to agree to disagree. To me, whenever a Canadian leader is asked about vaccine rollout in Canada bang in the middle of an epidemic in Canada, he shouldn’t be going “ah, but somewhere else they did that and face very serious third wave (which they didn’t’)”. Its pathetic.
As for the effectiveness of vaccines, they are very effective against the new variants in protecting the population, particularly if enough people have been vaccinated twice. But I am not an epidemiologist and wouldn’t want you too to sulk for months on end if someone somewhere says something else about yet another variant not yet in existence. So do forgive me for having a different opinion. Profuse apologies.

Pathetic? No, that's your attempt at denying the facts, which have been shown to you a number of times previously.

Yes, the UK faced a serious 3rd wave (and now a 4th) - so what you wrote is blatently untrue.
