Default Toronto overnight stay

So Mater and I are staying one night in the big city and I need advice on where to go. Last time she went she hated it and I can't say I blame her given the rain and crowds. She did like the Islands so we will go there. Probably St Lawrence market too. Any other suggestions that don't involve a load of stairs/steps and walking?
I'm thinking taxis would be a good idea. We are staying near Union Station

The boardwalk is flat. So is the path through the greenhouse in Allan Gardens. The necropolis has a path with only a slight gradient. The Riverdale Zoo is also compliant with limited foot lifting.

The Distillery District a few blocks east of St Lawrence Market is nice for poking around in. Bars, restaurants, 'stuff' shops - a bit of a 'Covent Garden' feel to it. Pedestrianised and no steps that I recall.

How about a walk along the lake front along Queens quay. It's nicely pedestrianised , plenty of seats for resting.walk as far as you like them hop on the street car to go back
