I think I am going to have to work tomorrow evening, at least until 7 which means I couldn't get there until 8:20 at the earliest.

Re: Toronto in August : Meet-up?
Waves! I'm in :) Planning to get there 6-ish, but can readjust if necessary.
Schnooks, do you still have my number, just in case ? ;) S |
Re: Toronto in August : Meet-up?
Yep, I do! You have mine as well I assume.
I'm aiming for 6ish as well, probably a bit after that. Just have to work out car logistics on this end. :) |
Re: Toronto in August : Meet-up?
Shirtback, might just be you, me, and hubby form the looks of it!

Re: Toronto in August : Meet-up?
Just a quick & belated follow-up:
I *really* enjoyed Toronto as a tourist (I'd been before to corporate-style gigs, & to the 'burbs for family stuff). A big thanks to all for the info shared here, it helped a lot. I found public transport, especially the streetcars, amazing; think I hit, intentionally or not, most of the ethnic neighbourhoods mentioned & thoroughly enjoyed them; *loved* the Island; & got my dim sum fix :). Also a very walkable city, although I don't quite believe the mileage my 'phone app reports! Regent Park, or at least the part I stayed in, was fine. I enjoyed seeing/visiting the "urban rejuvenation" projects, & was amazed at how unthreatening the streets felt, even (very) late at night :) It's been a long time since I spent time in a big city, & I was half expecting a Tower Hamlets/Paris Banlieues in the '80s type ghetto ;)! And thanks again to DBD for the mobility scooter recommendation. I managed to avoid the CN tower, other than having it feature as background in many photos:) The ROM was great, even the building; didn't make it to AGO. S |
