Top 5 things you cook for your tea.

Now that you live in Canada and if you are not going out to eat, what are the top five things you cook for your evening meal (tea, dinner, supper)? I don't mean put recipes, just general concepts.

I do: Shepard's Pie and peas
Roast Chicken, roast potatoes, veg.
Pan Fried salmon w/ wild rice
Pork Tenderloin, mash, stuffing and carrots.
Sausages (Cumberland), mash and gravy.

I made my first ever apple pie on the weekend and it came out a blinder.

I was going to reply to this, but I keep thinking its some sort of subtle piss-take that I am missing. It was the specificity of the sausage that has me worried...

Depends on the season, and we rarely eat the same thing twice.

Fave Winter meals would be:

Pate chinois (ie Shepherd's pie)
Pork fillet with rice & veggies
Fillet steak with something
Goulash soup
Roast chicken

Summer dishes:

Salad with either chicken or goat cheese
Something off the BBQ
Mussels
Something else off the BBQ
Tricolore salad

We didn't cook anything last night because we had a guy round trying to hotwire the car. I had to make do with crackers and foie gras.

I'm more of a weekend cook but my top 5 would be:

Casserole/Stew/Beef Carbonade or other such variance.
Kedgeree
Beef Stroganof (Using Delia Smith's 'easy' method.)
Roast Beef/Chicken and the trimmings.
Panfried Cod, Veggies, Oven Roasted Potatoes.

I usually have a can of Pride and a couple of bottles of Cotes du Rhone. If it's late in the week I might add a shot of something.

That's not good. You need your veggies.
