That was their second biggest hit.

Some journalists in the class recognized him. I wasn't convinced but after finding a picture when he had lost his dreadlocks I was able to confirm.

On confrontation in the pub he told me that he doesn't talk about it because it's such a waste of time.

That being said there is now talk of a comeback.

You should come down to Toronto! We could mosh pit it!

I've heard only good things about April Wine, but don't recall ever hearing any of their material.

What about Kick Axe? I think I have three of their four CDs, and damn good they are too. It's a shame they fizzled out in the mid 80's. They had a one-off come-back CD in 2004, which is where I stumbled across them.

Chilliwack was a good band from the 70's; they opened for ZZ Top at Craven here one year,

A former colleague of mine in London, who hailed from Calgary, was a big fan of Chixdiggit. They seem to have remained unaccountably obscure in the wider world.

I've worked with pretty much all the artists mentioned here, but my faves have to be

April Wine(for not dropping a note all night),
Rush(just because),
and Walk Off The Earth(for pure creativity).

Not a fan of their music as such, but if you want a really good Canadian music documentary, seek this out:

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/anv...tory_of_anvil/

Just noticed that the Anvil doc is available on Canadian Netflix:

https://www.netflix.com/title/70084229

Did you ever get that shed and/or the dog to take down the pub?

Saw that doc. Never realised they were so influential, even Metallica were singing their praises.

Ha! I did better than that. I already had a shed, that’s where the lawnmower lives. So I built a 12’ diameter roundhouse out of earth bags, with a reciprocal roof made from 4” round poles. It’s got a stove inside, and a hammock. Still a work in progress, no rush to finish it as I fear that’s where I’ll then be sent to live like a pathetic old hermit at the bottom of the garden. It’s like a hobbit house, I suppose, but being a Scottish chap I’ve called it The Bothy, and I go up there to smoke my pipe and ponder.

We’ve got 2 dogs and they love to go for a walk round the woods then stop in at the Red Lion for a packet of pork scratchings, so I am forced to have a pint or two while I’m waiting.

Yep...!

Not the same style of music, obviously, but no doubting that Burton is a talented musician.

Would love to but I'm baby sitting Burton Cummings that weekend. Hoping to pass the gig off to one of my guys if I'm honest so I can take the weekend off.
