Not that I'm not constantly itching, but every time I read a post on this thread it sets me off again!!!!!!!

I've just spent 40 mins massaging one of my dogs - he's the only one who's up for a body massage (doubling as a 'tick check'). I used a tea tree base for my massage and hope this will have some effect. I thought my foxy would be up for it but he left after 2 minutes (which is why Flynn's 10 min massage became 30 - he keeps coming back! :D)

Tea tree does help its a bit like nits on kids it def helps ;)

Advice please! Esme (the real one whose name I stole!) has a big boil like inflamed spot on her shoulder the size of a loonie. It's been bleeding - I never saw her scratch it or I would have been alerted to the possible presence of tickus irritus. Should I be worried? It's not a spot where I have removed a tick so I guess she scratched it herself and/or it's where the big tick I found on the floor a couple of days ago was. Not sure if there's any tick left in though there is a black spot on it......

I found tickus crawlius on a coathanger in my wardrobe today. For crying out loud, is nowhere sacred? I haven't been in my bedroom for days (the dogs sleep in there, I've locked myself in a dog free room). Has the thing crawled all the way into my wardrobe and up my clothes? How do I know it didn't bring its brothers and sisters with it? Can ticks live in a house like fleas do?

JUST WHEN YOU THINK IT'S SAFE TO GO BACK IN THE KITCHEN......:mad:

No! I didn't hang anything up - I haven't been in the room for aeons.... I only went in coz I'm off out to a BBQ and needed something nice to wear. I was looking at my clothes, having touched nothing and I just saw it crawling away! Needless to say, what I am now wearing is not from the wardrobe!!!!

I'm not sure if they're not hanging around in pairs... often when I find an engorged one I find a tiny one and I think someone told me only the females engorge themselves (there's a joke in here about humans but I'll resist :rofl:) so maybe they've got a fella under the thumb with them? :blink:

Thanks! It's a dual-purpose event - I'm going to get educated in tick removal (although I ordered my 'Tickoffs' yesterday!) by an expert (husband of a friend)
