I wasn't talking about on the forum (though it does apply sometimes, lol).

Nothing wrong with good natured sarcasm (it's the lowest form of wit), it's the malicious spiteful kind I don't like.. and as for put downs, I was meaning more the people that belittle others deliberately, it seems to be a national pastime with some people!

those idiots that advertise sales by saying 'we pay both taxes' when if fact they lower their price and add the taxes to arrive at the same result.

so when you shell out $1,000 for something it is really sold for about $850 plus taxes but you may be naive enough to think it costs you $1,000 without taxes

worse still those tax people who tolerate/ignore these misleading claims

TBH I haven't seen a single sarcastic post from you, and was thinking of reporting you to the BBB for false advertising.

those shrill pleas, always by some female, over the PA system for a clerk in a supermarket where they think we are all deaf

or

announcements that are so muddled/distorted/inaudible that are very hard to understand ... airports and train stations are worst offenders

those machines that accept metal cans and plastic bottles for deposit refunds which come up with a silly message that it does not recognise this item when but you have bought the beverage at the very same store

in Quebec we have this 'price accuracy policy' whereby if one is overcharged from the advertised price and if said item costs less than ten dollars, the store is legally obliged to give it to you free but when it happens one may often have to argue with the the store clerk for ones rights

I hate those machines. I'm going to go back to bottled beer. Much easier to return the empties and far less humiliating than feeding cans into a robot like someone on welfare who has been dumpster-diving.

I buy cans, primarily because Pride comes in cans, but also because they're easy to return. I walk up, "100" I say, handing over a bag of cans and the cashier rings it in without counting. Bottles are messy and fragile.

Cold callers - the kind at your front door, especially those with a 'message' who think nothing of making you let all that cold air in the house, not to mention allowing the house cat to run out the door.

You can return cans?
