I would certainly count myself in the former category, though my chances of producing one have long gone. I used to be able to produce a conventional leg-break with moderate consistency (as a change from the usual medium-paced invitation to cover-drive that my bowling amounted to) but a googly was well beyond my powers.

Any good spinner is a joy to watch/ Bishan Bedi was my bowling hero growing up, even though he was a left-arm orthodox.

Yes, though the premise implies the answer to the question. If going is twice as much trouble as staying then logically you should stay, therefore I shall adjust the stated dichotomy to:

There are people that should stay and there are idiots.
