What time is it?

Who is proposing to make it? (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!)

In general, if you had to choose. Holding all variables apart from this one constant.

I have voted tea - but....... I can't seem to get a really good cuppa in US even if I buy 'supposedly' the same tea as I buy in UK and love. Also, I can cope with a bad coffee so mauch better than bad tea

If I had to choose? Bad tea is worse than bad coffee in my experience, and there is a lot of bad tea around here... so Coffee. Unless its near tea time....

Have you got no beer? Gin?

Neither - I don't drink Tea or Coffee.

Now as iaink mentioned - if it was a beer...

Well, I'm conflicted because whilst I am drinking a cup of coffee right now I usually partake of several cups of tea during the day too. Still, after giving the matter the consideration it was due I found myself no closer to answer. Eventually I decided to do a simple thought experiment whereby I am forced into a long term situation where only either tea or coffee is available (but not both). Once I contemplated this scenario the answer quickly became apparent (tea). Still, this answer doesn't imply that, on occasion, I don't like coffee - because I do.

Since I found decent and relatively inexpensive tea here, I rarely drink coffee which is unfortunate, as between me and HID, who drinks neither, we racked up quite a lot of Starbucks and Tim Hortons gift cards.

You can swap them for cash at www.cardswap.ca. Although it's probably like those cash for gold rip-offs and they'll only offer you 5c on the dollar or something.

Tea between Innings.

Tea when visiting Asian friends or restaurants.

Otherwise coffee until the sun has sunk below the yardarm.

I'd never seen/heard of this site but just had a google and some are saying they got $65-$80 for a $100 card, depending on where it was for. You can also buy them there at a discount so get a $30 for bestbuy for example for $25.

May be worth rememebring for next Christmas when I'm buying gift cards for people :)

Re: Tea or Coffee?

I'm completely tea obsessed. I've managed to find teabags very similar to Yorkshire Tea here thank god. However, I have to make it with bottled water because I can't stand the chlorine flavour you get in the water! Of course if I go to the States I don't even try to get a good cup of tea, apparently the restaurants and hotels have rules against boiling water too hot in case they get sued for burning someone..WTF.?! Plus the tea is weak and flavourless. So coffee it is in the States :) Yes, I know I'm nuts when it comes to my need for proper English tea....
