Tastes like Heinz beans

Having eating a sub-standard baked bean for past year, I have now found what is the closest thing to Heinz baked beans...............

They are Clarks baked Beans in tomato sauce and they are available at Sobeys for 99c per tin. Haven't checked Superstore yet but found an old closed thread from 'Grah' saying that they are available at Giant Tiger.

Served them up to my kids without saying a word and they both asked if I had some Heinz shipped over.

WOOHOO YUM YUM

We splashed out and bought a tin of imported Heinz beans. Weak watery overcooked. Clarkes are good and the nearest to UK Heinz, but UK Heinz just arent any good once you have got used to the canadian variety.

Re: Tastes like Heinz beans

I think I read somewhere (probably here) that the UK Heinz beans recipe (or some ingredients therein) was (were) no longer used in Canada due to some technical requirements by the Canadian Ministry of Health (or its equivalent). Hence they wouldn't taste like the UK version.

Does anyone know if the version sold in the US tastes the same as the UK's?
