Re: Swoop Airline
My youngest used it and got there and back. Far too many cancellations for me to consider using them on some routes. You pay for what you get.

Re: Swoop Airline
Apparently you can get a call a couple of hours before your flight to say that they are short staffed and they will reschedule you on a flight 2 or 3 days in the future. https://www.airlinequality.com/airline-reviews/swoop/

Re: Swoop Airline
Swoop is a brand owned by Westjet.
Swoop was to grow by getting 737-800s from Westjet as Westjet received Max deliveries.
The Max being grounded means Westjet is short aircraft and have no aircraft to support Swoop.
Small fleet means little issues become big issues like lots of delays and cancellations that Swoop has seen.

Re: Swoop Airline
No airline is perfect as others have mentioned delays and cancellations are the major hiccup with this type of airline.
I would would throw in that after dealing with both Swoop and Flair for lost luggage, Swoop reacted near perfectly for us (saying that they did however still lose the luggage). Swoop had people to talk to, produced policies right away in terms of what the next steps were, they phoned the originating airport right away looking for the luggage, was sorted within 24-48 hours. Flair in the same situation did nothing, had no-one and was a very unpleasant experience got sorted after 6 months.

Well. Got to the airport. A one hour delay. But there were a lot of delays will lots of airlines, there was a Flair flight that had been waiting 8 hours for a plane.
Got on the plane, flew to YHM. Got my luggage. All in all a non eventful easy budget flight. OH flies out Sunday. I'll check back in.

There has been a Zip already. Air Canada operated a budget airline in 2002-2004 named Zip.
There has also been a Tango also Air Canada from 2001-2004

OH arrived as scheduled on Sunday. Said it was funny at the airport watching people trying to cram their too big bags in the personal item sized measuring thingy.
There is NO entertainment at all, they recommend you download their app. I think you can get wifi on it. I doubt it would be free.

Here are some recent issues with Swoop.

Glad your flights were not cancelled Piffpoff.
Swoops seems to have too few aircraft and no plan in place when something goes wrong, they may need to trim their schedule a bit more.

And an absolutely uneventful flight back to Edmonton. I think if you were to chose them to fly with, then routes that a regular/more than one a day would be a safer bet.
