Well, I can tell you that my OH and I earn between us around $73,000. Of course this is before those dreaded taxes. So yes, $100,000 would be very nice thank you.

Cassie, did you used to be someone else? How come I don't remember seeing you before and now you are all over the place? In a nice way of course, the all over the place.

I suppose I could have a dementia and you have fallen through a hole in my synapses.

OK, then, I'll give you two direct answers to your original question.

scenario 1. I am a fabulously wealthy investor-class immigrant.....$100,000 would last me about a week and a half.

scenario 2. I finished my formal education without a high school diploma... $100,000 is so far out of reach that I can't even begin to comprehend what I could do with that kind of salary.

Where on a sliding scale between scenario 1 and scenario 2 do you fall? The answer to your question rather depends, doesn't it?

Yes....sort of..... but then the overwhelming majority of people in Canada earn far less. Didn't someone earlier say that only 5% earn more than $100k? I saw average family incomes on statscan as being around $50k-$70k. That could even be two salaries.

To be fair, the question was about a salary level only....not how it did in relation to expenses and lifestyle.

I've been here for as long as 4 Bells. No, I wasn't someone else. (There can only be one of me, I don't think my husband could handle two )

I hang around mostly in the lounge, until I found out until recently the Canadian forum does have its own special brand of humour. ;)

It's not a meaningless question - it's just a quick survey, there to be answered by people who want to [which you obviously don't].

All it is, is a simple question, nothing to get heated about folks! A simple yes or no would suffice.

if OH had been offered $100k we would have been over by now, but he wasnt, the wage he was offered wasnt enough for us to live on so yes its a reasonable wage depending on your life style, as my mum used to say you cut your cloth to suit :)
