What a bunch of tosh, just take the money and get the drink don't try to use this to tell the whole world how wonderful u are at being a mother in a "I need to find the guy" way. Wtf is the world coming too !!!

If it were £500 I could understand, but for £5 she is making too big a deal out if it (as is the media). It sounds creepy too: Fiftysomething man in hat and glasses.

The thought or gesture was kind, but I think it takes a more significant amount before the woman can start broadcasting it. This is something that she might tell her friends at coffee (if she remembers) niot go on national TV with a mission to track down the beneficient stranger.

I'm guessing she did the modern day equivalent and told friends on FB and someone that was something to do with TV made contact.
