Thank you for sharing this. I wonder if it’s starting to dawn on JT how badly he’s dealing with this given that he told the ‘daughters of the vote’ that there was a choice between believing JWR or believing Chrystia Freeland (a Liberal who has actually achieved something). Perhaps he feels a choice between JWR and JT wouldn’t even be close?

No.

But Wilson-Raybould doesn't seem the innocent, downtrodden victim she was originally either.

Blaming Harper for the relationship with SNC Lavalin probably won't wash either, since it was going on before his government. First I heard of them was when the woman was jailed for trying to smuggle Gadhaffi's son out of North Africa to Mexico some years ago, but a little search shows the Canadian government was giving SNC and their customers billions in loans since 2002 and a lot of it was probably being used to pay bribes or was just outright bribes. As I said before, the Conservatives wouldn't have let this happen because their AG wouldn't make waves. Scheer was my MP in Regina-Quappelle and I wouldn't like to see him become PM. He's Harper's familiar Mini-Me, just a bit neater than John Baird was.

When was she ever said to be an innocent or downtrodden victim? I believe that she always maintained that the prosecutor had made a decision, she was happy with the prosecutor's decision but that she faced political pressure to overrule the prosecutor. All of which appears to be borne out by the facts that the liberal members of the various committees have done their best to prevent. It will be interesting to see what else lies below the surface now that she and another have been kicked out of caucus. If there is a better example of how not turn a problem into a huge problem in Canadian politics, I would like to see it.

It appears to be that the PM believed that his "sparkle" was likely to be sufficient to put this to bed. Unfortunately, he has made matters far worse for himself. However, if this the last of the revelations, 2 months from now it will be forgotten. I bet he thought that when it first broke 2 months ago!

It will be interesting to see how people view the, arguably, nasty way he has tried to smear her.

Wilson-Raybould released a tape recording that she made of a conversation between herself and Michael Wernick, without telling him.

Gerry Butts has released the notes that he made of a hone call between Trudeau and Wilson-Raybould ............... I assume because it was on speaker phone, or he was on a 3rd phone. He was a 3rd person relater of a conversation.

Did he take word-for-word notes, or abstracts of sentences, or his understanding of what was said?

Can we trust that the hand-written notes are actually a verbatim and accurate recording of the conversation?

Did Trudeau tell Wilson-Raybould that a 3rd person was listening in and making hand-written notes?

Was this common for Butts to listen in and make notes, have any other PMO Chiefs of Staff done the same, has the peprson on the other end of the line always known?

When the story broke with reports of her being pressured by the might of the PM and the all powerful PMO. It seemed clear enough.

Followed up a day or so later by how she wasn't going to be able to speak openly enough to defend herself.

Although common sense dictates that this is how it should be. I'm minded to wonder whether the antics of the DOJ south of the border has stiffened the backbone of the judiciary in the north to emphasize their independence.
It warms the cockles while south of the border 'Winter is Coming'.

However, the Federal Government can still cease the prosecution and offer a deal to the accused right up until the time that a conviction is obtained. We will have to see whether Trudeau decides that the loss of votes he may suffer in the rest of Canada if he stops the prosecution will exceed the votes he may gain in Quebec.

Ethics Commissioner 2 Trudeau 0

You can complain about Harper or Scheer or anyone else but seriously if you are still willing to defend the feminist, guy with pretty hair, sock boy and just not ready PM then you deserve him being thrown out of office.
He promised to do things differently and boy is he ever. How many PM's have been found guilty twice by the Ethics Commissioner?

What do Justin Trudeau and Baseball have in common? Hopefully both their seasons will end in October.

And no I am not saying the PC's would be better as I regard all politicians as on a level with a used car salesperson or defence lawyer for someone obviously guilty of murder.
