The particular problem with Scheer is that he has historically had a problem with it.

As the report said, "It would be a complete non-event had it not been for the Conservatives (and Scheer) making such a huge issue" of it previously.

If his US citizenship is simply through his father"s birth, then it's a different situation than the GG and shouldn't be held against him.

What difference does it make how he came by his citizenship? Either he's OK with leaders of federal political parties holding dual citizenship (which he clearly is not, otherwise he wouldn't have joined the fray against Mulcair or Dion), or he's a monstrous hypocrite (which he clearly is). He can't have it both ways.

Watched the debate.

NDP and the BLOC came off well.

The rest of them not so much.

Let's talk more about Trudeau's time as a teacher at West Point Gray.

Anyone hear anything interesting about that lately?

The only name I recognize on the ballot here in Regina - QuAppelle is Scheer's, so it should be easy to avoid voting for him.

I haven't followed this closely, but my understanding is that his dual citizenship is technical and not something he's made use of, so I don't see the monstrous hypocrisy charge. His comments sound more nativist (and we're not talking FN ) than anything else.

It would depend on whether or not the people he denounced for having multiple citizenships made us of the other citizenships; were they spies? Terrorists for another nation? A burden on the State by demanding evacuation from the other country?

Agree that Jagmeet Singh did a great job. Trudeau came off sounding too rehearsed, and Scheer just spent the whole time attacking Trudeau. Also I didn't find Elizabeth May as irritating and sanctimonious as she usually is and I liked her approach of trying to find common ground with the other leaders.

As for the the bloc leader he will never be PM so I don't know why he was there, other than to continually steer issues to Quebec, which I found annoying.

It's a shame none of them quoted this guy last night, that would have livened proceedings up:
