Stampede! YEE-HAAAAAA!!!!

Just thought I'd start a thread about the Calgary Stampede!

http://cs.calgarystampede.com/

Parade is tomorrow through downtown. There's a large model cowboy atop the train outside where I work at Gulf Canada Square, and the bleachers are up for the parade tomorrow.:)

All you new folks look out for the Stampede breakfasts .... there's probably one near you! Food is free but be prepared to line up! (I believe some places are putting collection boxes for donations though)

Anybody wants to 'jump' the lineup at the 'official' ones PM me, I'll tell you where Mrs BC is and she'll see you right.

There's a breakfast at Gulf Canada Square, 9th July, that I'm looking forward to. These little girls http://keisterfamilyfiddlers.com/m_2.asp are playing. :D

We're looking forward to the opportunity that Stampede brings to hear some decent music. Accepting that these may not be to everyone's taste, we have tickets booked for the Pengrowth Saddledome to go see The Judds, Sugarland and James Taylor, each ticket also granting access to the Stampede grounds so that we can enjoy a good look around.

Gosh darn it!

I'm 3,000km away. I guess I'll have to miss out on the fun. Again.

Never mind, you can pretend to be boycotting out of concern for the animals.

I'm more inclined to boycott it out of concern for sartorial elegance.

Some of the two-legged ones are worrying. It's all a bit Brokeback Mountain.

Well there are a few two legged bitches, dogs, old nags and pigs, so it is possible.

Oh, that's not fair. I'm sure there are some very nice Calgariennes. Probably.
