Some difficult news from Oakvillian

Yes, the element of seeking revenge against the bus company sat ill with me. I've just instigated some litigation myself so I'm not wholly opposed to suing but it's an unpleasant business and a last resort. Generally, I think, all parties lose.

Let's not equate the legal profession with a charity. Contingency fee based professionals have a choice whether or not to accept cases and being businesses are only likely to accept cases where either they have a better than even chance of winning based on the facts before them or have factored in the possibility that the opposition may decide not to proceed given the costs involved.

I could be wrong...but I feel the legal side of this has no place in this thread. Perhaps litigation could be discussed in a new thread...in the New Year.
For now our thoughts and prayers should be with Rosie and her family.

This might sound a little OTT, but I'd recommend keeping the thread focused on Rosie, and applying a little moderation to keep it that way (and try to maintain a positive and hopeful feel to thread).
The family obviously doesn't need any additional stress right now.

Best wishes to the Long family on this Christmas. Hopes and 'prayers' that Rosie's recovery is progressing.

Just saw some pics on Facebook, looks like Rosie's tracheostomy is out! Not certain but it looks like it from the picture! Fingers crossed!
There was also a pic of Doug and a ukulele. It's pretty spectacular.
For anyone in the Oakville area, there is a fundraiser tomorrow: https://m.facebook.com/Film.Ca/photos/a.636668163020932.1073741825.117032268317860/1315573791797029/?type=3&source=54 (hopefully that link works, on mobile...)

Just had an update from Doug. Rosie isn't fully disconnected from the ventilator yet, but is strong enough to spend a couple of hours per day of the ventilator.
Rosie will be at McMaster another 3 or so weeks at least but looking like the transition to Bloorview isn't too far away.
Some good news!
