Re: So how is your accent?
About a week after I moved here I was stood at a bus stop and a cradle started a conversation with me, the second thing he asked me was if I was from Nottingham!! Bloody hell matey...near enough!! His Aunt was from there I thought that this was amazing as most people where I lived down south had no Idea where I was from.
As for Oatcakes you used to be able to get them in Sainsburys in Bournemouth for a while but have not seen them for years and they were as you described....We used to order about 20 dozen from Castle oatcakes or London road oatcakes and put them in the deep freeze.... even defrosted they were better than the Sainsburys ones

Not wishing to be pedantic, but do you perhaps mean "pedantic?"
"More simple" is quite acceptable, especially in this anaphoric construction.
Pretentious, moi?

I don't have any kind of accent, thankfully the typical 'Leicestoh' twang disappeared as soon as I hit the workplace so no one has a clue - unless I say "Giz a cob" or "oraaaght m'duck". Which is never.
I remember when I first met Butch Cassidy - he said "you sound dead posh" I think he's probably deaf though. cos posh is one thing I ain't (there goes that Leicester again)

Very nice thanks, for a southern pansy shandy drinker
I have got a lot of attention here for my accent and I think I will miss that
Although it's damn annoying when people are not listening to what you are saying, but just hearing the accent.
