No, if anything encourage them to be even more smelly. Smelly is brilliant.
Even better if they have some twigs in their hair but that might be too much to ask. PS. What would your Nan do? (not Nando's, we don't have a Nando's) |

I used to work with a girl who suffered BO, really bad BO. We all talked about what we should do, one of the girls eventually got brave enough to say something. The BO sufferer was mortified but thankful that she had been told, she hasn't stunk since. She just didnt know.

It all depends on how good your friendship is and how reasonable they are and how much it bothers you. I wouldn't say anything just to be helpful. But if it really affects you when you visit or the neighbouhood is talking behind their backs etc then I would talk to them. I've told two friends in the past that there was something wrong. Both times very carefully and only because their behaviour had an effect on my life. One friendship went downhill after and one grew stronger. So it can go either way. Otherwise I like the clothes peg idea ;) |
Re: smelly friends
Don't you need to decide what kind of person you want to be in such a situation? They're great friends you say and you enjoy their company. Do you eat and drink using their tableware/cutlery?. If so, then you cannot be too concerned about being poisoned by associating with them.
If you can abide being with them and are not in fear of catching something horrible then say nothing. If, OTOH you decide to mention the problem, then IMHO you run a high risk of losing them as friends and hurting them deeply, which I'm sure you'd rather not do. |

Maybe they have a medical condition... I know it's a bit unlikely that they both do but you never know...

I think you're just trolling (smelly, trolls are). But if you're not going to cremate them, just get a nosegay.

Re: smelly friends
I used to keep a can of deodorant in my desk drawer for a certain member of staff. Whenever he cam near me I used to say "hang on a minute, pit stop". I used to give him a squirt of smellies and he was good to go. He got the message. As for smelly houses, I would say to them "don't you ever open a window in here?".
I'm not known for being tactful in front of people.:) |
