Hmm well in the minefield that constitutes crappy Canadain fashion, where do you ladies go to but something "nice".

For me I end up at H & M or Zara - Or Lulu Lemon - but that"s cos I live in trackies most of the time . . . .

I suppose it depends on what look i'm trying to acheive. Payless is awesome for inexpensive decent 'trendy' stuff. I got a complete bargain at Walmart on some bronze roman type stillettos (probably never wear them) and on the bargain hunter side there's the consignment stores that I love.

Do you think your fashion sense has changed since being here Caz (bearing in mind the day I saw you you had black combats, awesome trainers and a ponytail through your cap!!!!!)

I have Birkenstocks in the summer, trainers in spring and fall and boots in the winter. Simple innitÉ

Bags, I have a few Radley bags but nothing from here. Mind you we don't have any spare cash for fashion so it's not something I have looked for.

The last bag I bought was from Coach, cheaper in store than at the airport!

I am still buying clothes in the UK and bringing them back with me. 3 trips back so far this year as kept me fully stocked up ;)

Just had a per una mac delivered from M&S, the duty coming in was horrendous  but I will cherish it all the more or at least til next season's stock come's in :)

Like 4Bells, I mainly do Zara, sometimes H&M, also don't mind some Jacob and Tristan (was and America) stuff occassionally. Winners sometimes has ok stuff but I can't be bothered searching through the racks - Bags - have Coach - bought in the U.S., Burberry, etc, still holding out for that Louis Vuitton;)

Buy stuff when I get home too - bought some things from Next and Dior sunglasses at duty free. Also got a really nice huge union jack bag from Accessorize when last there.

Love, love, love Sephora!

Miss C - how much was duty on a mack???

My wife had a good old time in Holt Renfrew down Robson (Part of the pacific centre i think it is). She also indulged in a place called Wear Else and Hermes where she bought a scarf that's not really a scarf, more like a hanky.

How do i know this? I'm reading my amex statement :sneaky:

But I am not a real department store fan - I love Holt Renfrew - just cos its pretty But my mum used to work at Peter Jones and we gt 25% discount so I begrude having to pay full price !

Think sephora has gone in Uk now!

I miss TopShop and Oasis and oh MANGO I miss thee soo much , there dont seem to many mid range shops now in Canada , its all Roots m Gap - Sometimes I dont want jeans and a hoody!

Re: Shoes and Bags

I go around all the shoe stores (including Winners) and hurumph, then I'll do it again and hurumph and then I'll do it again and buy something I don't particularly like. It's even worse because I have to find something that fits orthotics and I really begrudge paying $100 for pleather/cloth shoes. I want leather for that money and it's almost impossible, I tend to buy only in sales or Winners, I don't like to pay more than $50 as I never know if they are going to be comfy.

As for bags, apparently I don't need anymore:rolleyes: Same as coats/jackets:rolleyes: I also think I'm the only person in Canada that does not like COACH bags - UGLY and stupid money. I do however quite like my tacky Union Jack back that I got from the Trocadero 2 years ago for six quid:o

Hang on a minute. Top Shop and River Island.....in Toronto? Do elaborate. Not that it is crucial, one of the highlights of 2010 for me will be a trip including a stop at Target in the US.
