Re: Shipping estimate
If using the moving partnership I would question them very closely as to who is packing and unpacking your goods. The reason they are so cheap is because they basically auction your move off on a website, so who ever gives them the cheapest quote gets your move. They are also not part of FIDI
Moving companies have partners around the world, not affiliations they work with partners they know and trust to carry on their good reputation, and do a good job. If at any time their partners let them down they will quickly choose new partners. Good luck  |

That included insurances..:) Top Cat:) |
Re: Shipping estimate
One of the companies that we got a quote from wanted 20 quid PER PALLET used for Green Treating or some such nonsense. Plus, a tax of 5% on top of that. Tax? Tax for what? They included a whole load of other additional guff too.
I think their quote is now lining the Paper Only recycling bin, or even the cats litter tray. |
Re: Shipping estimate
We also used EVL we got a 20ft container and it was about £3400
Essex to Toronto...then back to our home another 2 hrs nothing broke, loaders and unloaders both ends were brilliant can't fault them at all |

As I type this we've got a moving company doing an estimate to ship our stuff from South UK to Toronto (by boat). Any guesses on how much the estimate is for 250 cubic feet?
:) Hi! We had 300 cu ft and outs cost approx £1900 but we has also had to pay for our part of the container to be taken out, as we brought horse equipment, which had to be inspected and some bits steam cleaned!! We didn't bring furniture apart from a canvas wardrobe and shoe rack! Customs don't like mattresses anyway and the bed sizes are slightly different! Waste of time and money to bring these type of things! Anyway hope everything goes well for you ;-) |

Anyway hope everything goes well for you ;-) They didn't even blink an eye.....yes sizes a bit different but if you bring beds would you not bring bedding that fits? So your opinion of waste of time and money is merely that your opinion and many of us who have brought these things will differ from your thinking.. |

Might I ask where you got your information about mattresses? Seems you are mislead about that...We brought double bed, single bed and crib with mattress.

On beds - Our shipping agency quoted £400 extra for one double bed. Given that we paid 500 for it, 5 years ago, we're not bringing it ;) |
Re: Shipping estimate
Only mattresses being sold need to be fumigated, not anything you are using,
We were taking container anyway so not like we only took beds. |
